Gartner values curiosity, data-driven decision making and collaborative problem solving. Expect cross-functional partnership, high performance standards, inclusive teams and investment in development. Work blends remote focus time with in-person collaboration in a hybrid model.
About the role
Gartner’s Global Sales Strategy & Operations (GSSO) team is a high-impact organisation that powers the company’s sales decisions and helps steer the strategy for a global sales force delivering roughly $4.9B in annual revenue. As Manager of GSSO Analytics based in Gurgaon, you will be a key leader enabling senior sales and operations stakeholders to make confident, data-driven decisions. This role is an opportunity to build and lead a small team of analytics professionals, design and operate reporting and dashboarding systems, and translate complex, multi-dimensional data into actionable commercial strategies that improve seller productivity and accelerate revenue growth.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will partner closely with business leaders across the global sales organisation — including Sales Strategy, Sales Operations, Talent & Enablement, Finance, and commercial leadership in regionally distributed teams. Your primary focus will be to build a reliable analytics capability that informs strategic and tactical decisions. This includes designing end-to-end reporting solutions: gathering requirements, shaping data models, designing ETL flows, building robust SQL queries and dimensional models, and delivering elegant, interactive Power BI dashboards.
You will lead the creation of recurring and ad-hoc reports, coach your team on best practices for dashboard design and performance optimisation, and work directly with senior leaders to interpret results and craft recommendations. Example engagements include diagnosing underperformance patterns in seller segments, measuring the ROI of new sales motions, prioritising high-impact account lists, assessing quota and compensation outcomes, and helping identify pipeline hygiene issues that materially impact forecast accuracy.
The role requires a blend of strategic thought and hands-on analytics execution. You will be expected to: translate ambiguous business questions into analytic hypotheses, use SQL to join and shape large datasets, design ETL processes or supervise engineers who implement them, and iterate on visualisations and narratives until they answer leaders’ questions. You will also play a mentoring role — helping less experienced analysts grow their technical and storytelling skills while preserving engineering discipline around data quality and performance.
An important part of the job will be operationalising insights: moving from point-in-time analysis to operational dashboards and automated reports that run daily or weekly, embedding alerts and SLAs, and partnering with engineering to ensure data freshness and stability. You’ll also be expected to surface leading indicators that predict revenue or seller outcomes so that the business can act proactively. The ideal candidate will bring a product-minded approach to analytics: delivering user-centric dashboards, owning the roadmap, and iterating based on stakeholder feedback.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and grow an analytics team focused on sales reporting, dashboards and insight delivery.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business priorities into analytic roadmaps and measurable KPIs.
- Design, validate, and own Power BI dashboards that inform senior leaders and operations teams.
- Develop robust SQL models, optimise queries, and collaborate on ETL/warehouse design.
- Convert analysis into clear presentations and actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Implement data governance practices to protect report integrity and reproducibility.
- Operationalise analytics: automated reporting, alerts, and SLA-driven processes.
What you’ll need
- 6+ years of experience with Business Analytics, Sales Operations, or related functions.
- Strong Power BI development experience: data modelling, DAX measures, and report optimisation.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience across relational DBs (Oracle, MySQL or similar).
- Familiarity with ETL patterns and tools; ability to partner with data engineers on ingestion pipelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA/macros for automation and analysis.
- Comfort working with large, multi-dimensional datasets and designing performant visualisations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to present insights to senior leadership.
