What's The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack, you will play a key role within Shell's Customer Operations & Service Operations Management (SOM) team, supporting customer fulfilment across B2B and B2C operations in over 30 markets and 15+ languages.
This role contributes to Shell's customer journey – from initial contact to order placement and delivery – by enabling seamless digital experiences and touchless ordering through scalable, cloud-based solutions. Working within a global team that processes millions of transactions annually, you'll deliver innovative, human-centered digital products using Agile methodologies.
What You'll Be Doing
Ensure the performance, responsiveness, and availability of applications.
Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and escalate issues in real-time, collaborating with end-users and internal experts to minimize business impact.
Maintain high standards of code quality, organization, and automation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform operational tasks and support application lifecycle management.
Operate and manage systems at scale, prioritizing availability and resiliency.
Support product development by delivering new features to production with a focus on quality and uptime.
Conduct deep incident analysis to identify and resolve root causes.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely issue resolution.
Coach and mentor fellow Software Engineers within the team.

What You Bring
• 9–12 years of experience in Full Stack Development within corporate IT Operations.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with backend technologies such as Node.js (TypeScript), GoLang, and GraphQL.
• 5 years of proficiency in frontend technologies including React and Swift.
• Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, and MSSQL.
• Skilled in building data-rich JavaScript/HTML/CSS applications.
• Strong experience in containerization and cloud technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, and Microsoft Azure/AWS, GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins, CircleCI, SonarQube, and EFK Stack.
• Solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and systems architecture.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, coding, testing, and automation skills.
• Passion for improving performance, accessibility, and reliability.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines.
• Experience in IT application support, ITIL processes, and IT service management.
• Ability to navigate conflict and ambiguity effectively.
• Good understanding of large-scale distributed systems in practice, including multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring, and storage systems.
• Proven track record of delivering results against stretch targets.
• Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive delivery excellence in a matrix organization through influence and collaboration.
• Ability to operate in a virtual cross-cultural environment.
