If you're ready to take your career to the next level and make a significant contribution to Grundfos' innovation journey, we encourage you to apply now.
Position Overview: What This Role Entails
The Senior Applied Control Engineer position has been created to significantly strengthen Grundfos' technology capabilities across three critical areas: technology maturity, technology implementation, and validation, with a primary focus on Cooling and HVAC applications. This role sits at the intersection of theoretical innovation and practical application, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and market-ready solutions.
As the successful candidate, you will assume responsibility for advancing the technology maturity of sophisticated control algorithms through a comprehensive validation process. This includes utilizing advanced simulation methodologies such as Simulation in the Loop (SIL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) simulation, conducting rigorous laboratory testing, developing and executing Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and overseeing field test deployments in actual customer environments.
Beyond technical validation, this position plays a strategic role in exploring and maturing new innovations that will enhance both Grundfos' technology leadership and commercial competitiveness in the global marketplace. You'll be working at the forefront of control engineering, ensuring that Grundfos maintains its position as one of the world's leading water technology companies through continuous innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Your Day-to-Day Impact
Control Algorithm Maturation and Development
You will provide essential support for maturing control algorithms in close collaboration with the Technology Development team and Digital Development team. This involves rigorous testing, refinement, and optimization to ensure algorithms perform reliably across diverse operating conditions and customer applications.
Frontend Validation Leadership
Lead the Frontend Validation process for new control solutions, working alongside relevant stakeholders from the Commercial Building Services (CBS) Division and various Group Technology & Innovation (GT&I) Departments. Your leadership will ensure that all new control solutions meet Grundfos' high standards for performance, reliability, and customer value before market introduction.
Technology Transfer and Integration
Facilitate the smooth transition of relevant new control technologies from Technology Development and GT&I to the CBS Division. This critical responsibility includes close coordination with the CBS Solutions & Marketing team and CBS Product Development (PD) team, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer, proper documentation, and effective implementation support.
Solution Robustness and Quality Assurance
Working together with relevant stakeholders and team members, you will ensure that all solutions are robust, reliable, and follow established development workflows and guidelines. This includes implementing best practices for testing, validation, and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.
Knowledge Management and Documentation
Document and actively share best practices across the organization, including process documentation, training materials, workflows, detailed instructions, and compelling case studies. Your contributions will help build organizational knowledge and improve efficiency across teams.
Cross-Functional Support
Provide support for other related tasks and initiatives within the Technology Innovation department, contributing your expertise to various projects and helping drive the broader innovation agenda forward.
