About Booking.com: Connecting Travelers with Unforgettable Experiences
At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code, or A/B tests. We're the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make. Through our products, partners, and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.
As the world's leading travel platform, we connect millions of travelers with accommodations worldwide every single day. Our success is built on strong partnerships with hotels, resorts, guesthouses, apartments, and unique properties across the globe. In Thailand, one of the world's most beloved tourist destinations, these partnerships are more important than ever.
The Opportunity: Account Executive in Phuket
Are you passionate about the travel and hospitality industry? Do you thrive on building relationships, solving problems, and helping businesses grow? Join our dynamic Business Development & Support team in Phuket as an Account Executive, where you'll play a vital role in supporting accommodation partners across one of Thailand's most vibrant tourism regions.
As an Account Executive, your main mission will be to provide comprehensive support to new and existing accommodation partners throughout your region. You'll be their trusted advisor and first point of contact, helping them maximize their success on the Booking.com platform. Through proactive communication, strategic guidance, and hands-on support, you'll help partners meet the evolving demands of travelers visiting Phuket and surrounding areas.
Your role will encompass relationship building, technical training, business optimization, and ongoing partner support. You'll contact, inform, and advise partners about best practices for visibility, pricing strategies, and availability management. You'll build engaging accommodation webpages that showcase properties at their best and deliver comprehensive training on how to use Booking.com's extranet systems to improve their supply and performance.
This is more than just an account management role—it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on local businesses, help them thrive in the digital age, and contribute to Thailand's position as a world-class tourism destination.
Key Responsibilities and Daily Activities
Proactive Partner Communication and Relationship Building
Engage in day-to-day proactive communication with accommodation partners throughout your region using multiple channels including telephone calls, internal messaging systems, and occasionally in-person visits. Your communication style should be consultative and supportive, focused on helping partners develop their business and maximize their potential on the Booking.com platform.
Build productive, trust-based relationships with partners to ensure they consistently offer the best availability, competitive rate structures, and attractive promotions that appeal to travelers. Strong relationships are the foundation of successful partnerships—partners who trust you will be more receptive to your guidance and recommendations.
Business Development and Optimization
Proactively discuss growth opportunities with partners using Booking.com's sophisticated internal tools for priority setting and performance analysis. Help partners identify areas for improvement such as pricing optimization, availability expansion, better property descriptions, improved photos, and strategic promotions that can drive more bookings and revenue.
Act as the first point of contact for key local accommodation partners in your territory, promptly answering their questions and queries, taking appropriate action as needed, and escalating complex issues to Account Managers when necessary. Your responsiveness and problem-solving abilities will be crucial to partner satisfaction.
Training and Knowledge Transfer
Deliver comprehensive training sessions by phone (and occasionally in person) to new and existing properties on how to effectively use Booking.com's extranet platform and rates & availability management systems. Your training should be clear, patient, and tailored to each partner's level of technical comfort and experience.
Participate actively in weekly team learning sessions in your office to continuously develop your product knowledge, sales techniques, and understanding of new features and tools that can benefit partners. Share insights from your partner interactions to help the entire team learn and improve.
Content Creation and Property Management
Provide hands-on support in building and maintaining webpages for accommodations on the Booking.com website. This includes creating compelling property descriptions, organizing photo galleries, highlighting amenities and facilities, and ensuring all information is accurate, complete, and optimized for search visibility.
Verify that the website displays accurate, up-to-date information about properties, including correct addresses, contact details, amenities, policies, and high-quality photos of newly registered accommodations. First impressions matter—well-presented properties attract more bookings.
Advisory Services and Follow-Up
Advise accommodation partners regarding their current and potential webpages on the Booking.com website, providing guidance on how they can amend and optimize data related to supply, availability, special offers, and promotional campaigns. Help them understand what travelers are looking for and how to position their properties competitively.
Provide ongoing information and advice primarily by phone, including diligent follow-ups to ensure partners have successfully implemented your recommendations and are seeing positive results. Persistence and consistent follow-through are key to driving meaningful change.
Operational Support and Market Intelligence
Serve as the liaison person for properties to contact when they have urgent questions or issues by phone, especially when their assigned Account Managers are unavailable. Your availability and responsiveness help ensure partners never feel stranded without support.
Conduct regular daily and weekly rate and availability checks across various booking platforms to monitor competitive positioning and identify opportunities or issues that need to be addressed with partners. Market intelligence helps you provide more strategic guidance.
Administrative Excellence and Project Support
Handle IT and administrative-related tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate records of partner interactions, commitments, and outcomes in Booking.com's systems. Good documentation ensures continuity of service and helps the entire team stay informed.
In consultation with Account Managers, provide information support to Booking.com for new and existing accommodations, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making. Assist in the preparation of market visits, operational planning initiatives, and special projects as needed.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning
Remain versatile, flexible, and able to adapt quickly to the latest guidelines, policy changes, system updates, and strategic initiatives from Booking.com. The travel industry evolves rapidly—your ability to embrace change and help partners navigate it will be essential to sustained success.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Essential Experience
3+ years of progressive sales or account management experience, preferably in hospitality, travel, e-commerce, or a related customer-facing industry. You should have a proven track record of building client relationships, meeting sales targets, and driving customer satisfaction through consultative selling and exceptional service.
Language Proficiency
Fluent Thai and English language skills (both spoken and written) are absolutely essential. You'll be communicating with Thai accommodation partners who may have varying levels of English proficiency, so native or near-native Thai fluency is required. Strong English skills are needed for internal communication and working with international systems and documentation.
Industry Knowledge
Affinity for or experience within the e-travel and/or hotel/travel/hospitality industry is a significant plus. Understanding how hotels operate, the challenges they face, seasonal tourism patterns in Phuket, and the online booking landscape will help you be more effective in your role from day one.
Communication Excellence
Great face-to-face and telephone communication skills are crucial. You should be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, building rapport quickly over the phone, explaining complex concepts clearly, listening actively to partner concerns, and adapting your communication style to different personalities and communication preferences.
Ability to convince partners on the phone to implement your suggestions through persuasive, benefits-focused communication. You're not just informing—you're influencing partners to take action that will improve their business performance.
Personal Attributes and Working Style
Proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently. You should be self-motivated, able to manage your own schedule and priorities, and take ownership of your partner portfolio without requiring constant supervision.
Quick-thinking and resourceful, flexible, accurate, with strong analytical skills and an eye for detail. You'll need to think on your feet during partner calls, analyze performance data to identify opportunities, and ensure accuracy in all property information and webpage content.
Team player who is motivated and genuinely enjoys working in e-travel and hospitality. While you'll work independently with partners, you're part of a collaborative team environment where knowledge sharing and mutual support are highly valued.
Business-focused with commercial awareness. Understand that your role exists to drive business results for both Booking.com and our accommodation partners—it's a win-win approach.
Positive attitude even in challenging situations. Partners may sometimes be frustrated or confused—your patience, optimism, and problem-solving mindset will help defuse tension and find solutions.
Education Background
Hotel School or University background preferred, particularly in hospitality management, tourism, business administration, marketing, or related fields. Relevant work experience can compensate for formal education, but academic grounding in hospitality or business provides valuable context.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
In your first 30 days, you'll complete comprehensive onboarding and training on Booking.com's systems, products, and partner support best practices. You'll begin taking over a portfolio of accommodation partners, building relationships, and understanding their specific needs and challenges.
Within 90 days, you'll be independently managing your partner portfolio, conducting effective training sessions, building optimized property webpages, and driving measurable improvements in partner availability, content quality, and overall performance on the platform.
Within six months, you'll be a trusted advisor to partners in your region, consistently exceeding performance targets for partner engagement and satisfaction, and contributing valuable market insights to your team and Account Managers.
Within a year, you'll have helped dozens of accommodation partners significantly improve their business performance, established yourself as a go-to expert on the Phuket market, and potentially be ready to take on expanded responsibilities or mentoring newer team members.
Why Phuket? Why Now?
Phuket is one of the world's most popular island destinations, attracting millions of international and domestic travelers annually. The region offers incredible diversity from luxury resorts to budget bungalows, beach properties to hillside retreats, and everything in between. As Thailand's tourism industry continues its strong recovery and growth trajectory, there's never been a better time to help accommodation partners succeed.
Working in Phuket means you'll be at the heart of the action in one of Asia's most dynamic travel markets. You'll see firsthand the impact of your work as partners improve their online presence and attract more guests. You'll be part of a thriving local hospitality community while working for a global technology leader.
