Manager / Sr. Manager – Seed Processing
📍 Indore, India | Full-Time | Agri-Processing Industry
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Manager or Sr. Manager – Seed Processing to oversee and optimize all seed processing, packaging, and dispatch operations at our facility in Indore. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in agriculture or engineering, proven leadership abilities, and extensive experience within the seed or agri-processing industry. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, robust knowledge of processing machinery and quality standards, and the ability to effectively coordinate with multiple internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
A. Operations Management
- Oversee all day-to-day seed processing activities (cleaning, treating, drying, sorting, and storage), ensuring compliance with quality specifications and production targets.
- Develop, implement, and monitor daily and weekly processing schedules to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Manage packaging and dispatch functions, ensuring accurate inventory and timely shipment of finished seed products.
- Maintain and enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processing, safety, and quality control functions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national agricultural, safety, and environmental regulations.
B. Technical and Machinery Expertise
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of seed processing machinery (gravity separators, fine cleaners, optical sorters, treaters, dryers) and their optimal operation.
- Implement proactive maintenance schedules to ensure maximum uptime and equipment longevity.
- Identify and introduce process improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and seed quality.
C. Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Production, Sales/Marketing, and other departments to align processing output with commercial requirements.
- Prepare and present detailed processing reports on output, efficiency, inventory levels, and quality metrics.
- Use ERP systems and MS Office Suite (especially Excel) for inventory tracking, production planning, and reporting.
D. Team and Resource Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage processing staff, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Track daily operations involving machinery, arrivals (raw seed intake), packing, and dispatches.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and shift scheduling for optimal labor utilization.
