The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer on our team, you'll be at the forefront of designing and developing scalable backend services that power our security solutions. You'll work with microservices architectures, distributed systems, and AI-driven security technologies to build robust, high-performance platforms that operate at global scale.
Your collaboration will extend across multiple disciplines. You'll partner closely with fellow engineers, data scientists, product managers, and security researchers to create innovative security solutions that protect both AI-powered applications and traditional web services. This cross-functional collaboration ensures that our solutions are not only technically sound but also address real-world security challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you'll take ownership of critical backend systems that form the foundation of our security platform. Your responsibilities will include:
Architecture and System Design: You'll design and optimize backend systems that support high-performance, secure, and resilient applications at scale. This involves making architectural decisions that balance performance, security, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness across distributed systems.
Real-Time Data Processing: You'll build sophisticated real-time pipelines and analytics frameworks that enable data-driven decision-making and deliver personalized security experiences. These systems process vast amounts of security telemetry data to detect threats and anomalies as they occur.
Security Implementation: You'll implement robust protections against modern threats, including adversarial attacks on AI systems, data leakage prevention, and API security measures. All of this must be accomplished while maintaining strong privacy guarantees and compliance with data protection regulations.
Innovation Through Technology: You'll leverage distributed systems, microservices architectures, and AI/ML techniques to drive innovation across security and threat intelligence domains. This includes exploring new approaches to threat detection, automated response systems, and predictive security analytics.
Collaborative Problem-Solving: You'll work closely with diverse team members to develop impactful, user-centric solutions. Your ability to translate complex security requirements into elegant technical implementations will be crucial to the team's success.
What We're Looking For
To excel in this role, you should bring:
Strong Technical Foundation: You have 3+ years of experience in backend development with deep expertise in Golang, Python, and SQL. You understand how to write clean, efficient, maintainable code that performs well at scale.
Distributed Systems Expertise: You have hands-on experience with distributed systems, cloud architectures, microservices patterns, and various database technologies. You understand the trade-offs involved in building distributed applications and know how to handle challenges like eventual consistency, distributed transactions, and service discovery.
Problem-Solving Skills: You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and you thrive in fast-paced, security-focused environments where requirements evolve rapidly in response to emerging threats.
Container and Orchestration Experience: You have practical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments. You understand container security best practices and know how to deploy and manage containerized applications in production.
Event-Driven Architecture Knowledge: You're familiar with real-time data processing and event-driven architectures, including technologies like NATS, Kafka, gRPC, and other messaging systems.
Cloud Platform Proficiency: You're proficient with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and understand how to leverage cloud-native services to build scalable, cost-effective solutions.
Security Awareness: You have familiarity with AI/ML security concepts, adversarial threats, API security, and other modern security challenges. Understanding how attackers think and operate will help you build more secure systems.
