Your Impact
As Senior Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of building and leading an elite team of platform and ML engineers who will architect and deliver a globally distributed AI inference platform. You'll be responsible for creating OpenAI-compatible endpoints, orchestrating complex workloads across multiple regions, and ensuring our platform meets the highest standards of performance, security, and compliance.

Platform Excellence
Guarantee the availability, performance, scalability, and security of the Akamai Inference Cloud environment. You'll establish rigorous standards and monitoring systems that ensure our platform consistently exceeds customer expectations and maintains industry-leading uptime and response times.
Global Orchestration
Design and implement sophisticated global traffic orchestration systems for AI workloads, ensuring optimal resource utilization and minimal latency across all geographic regions. You'll create platform standards and architectural blueprints that enable production-grade AI applications to scale seamlessly.
Compliance and Governance
Conduct thorough evaluations of AI tools and technologies while ensuring strict adherence to FedRAMP, GDPR, SOX, and numerous other regulatory frameworks. Your expertise will help customers confidently deploy AI solutions in highly regulated environments.

You possess substantial experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams that have successfully delivered AI/ML products to market. Your track record demonstrates your ability to attract talent, develop engineers, and ship complex technical solutions that solve real business problems.
Technical Depth
Your hands-on experience with AI inference optimization, model serving, and large language model deployment at scale sets you apart. You have deep expertise with inference frameworks, including TensorRT, vLLM, TorchServe, and Triton, and you understand the nuances of optimizing these systems for production workloads.
Infrastructure Mastery
You excel at implementing containerization strategies for AI workloads and optimizing hardware-specific processes. Your expertise in cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes and distributed systems enables you to architect solutions that operate reliably across global infrastructure.
Platform Engineering Excellence
You've built highly available, low-latency platforms with strict service level objectives and have proven experience implementing cost optimization strategies for compute-intensive AI workloads. You understand the economic realities of AI infrastructure and design systems accordingly.
AI Application Knowledge
Your experience extends to AI application platforms, including retrieval-augmented generation, autonomous agents, and fine-tuning workflows. You understand not just the infrastructure layer but how developers will use these systems to build intelligent applications.
Additional Expertise
Knowledge of AI safety and explainability frameworks, familiarity with GPU infrastructure and hardware acceleration technologies, and an understanding of emerging AI paradigms will help you succeed in this role.
