The landscape of accounting education is evolving dramatically with the CPA Evolution initiative, and UWorld Accounting stands at the forefront of this transformation. Our dedicated team of accounting experts has been diligently developing cutting-edge educational materials that will shape the next generation of certified public accountants. As we launch our innovative product offerings for 2024 and beyond, we're seeking exceptional talent to join our mission of excellence in accounting education.
Position Description
UWorld Accounting is actively recruiting a passionate, full-time accounting professional or educator to assume the role of CPA Exam Content Writer. This position represents a unique intersection of accounting expertise, educational innovation, and creative content development. We're looking for individuals who possess deep accounting knowledge combined with exceptional communication skills and a genuine desire to empower others on their professional journey.
The ideal candidate will be someone currently working in industry or education who understands the practical applications of accounting principles while maintaining a strong academic foundation. Whether you're conducting audits, managing financial operations, teaching accounting concepts, or providing tax guidance, if you've discovered a passion for explaining complex concepts and helping others achieve clarity, this role offers the perfect platform to amplify your impact.
This is not your typical accounting position. Instead of reconciling ledgers or preparing financial statements, you'll be crafting the educational experiences that prepare thousands of aspiring CPAs for success. You'll transform your accounting superpowers into engaging, comprehensive learning materials that make challenging concepts accessible and memorable.
Requirements
Minimum Education
The foundation of this role requires a solid academic background in accounting or taxation. Candidates must hold a degree in accounting or taxation, demonstrating formal training in accounting principles, standards, and practices. CPA certification is absolutely required, as this credential ensures you understand firsthand the rigor and expectations of the examination process. Additionally, candidates holding CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certifications are especially welcome, as these credentials bring valuable perspectives to our diverse content development team.
Minimum Experience
We're seeking professionals with at least three years of substantive experience in accounting or auditing environments. This experience may come from internal audit departments, public accounting firms, corporate accounting roles, or academic settings. Your background should demonstrate practical application of accounting principles in real-world scenarios, whether that's conducting external audits, managing internal controls, preparing financial statements, or educating students in classroom environments.
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desired: Auditing and Attestation, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Managerial or Cost Accounting, or Taxation. Deep knowledge in any of these domains will enable you to create authoritative, relevant content that resonates with exam candidates and reflects current professional practices.
Responsibilities
As a CPA Exam Content Writer, you'll assume a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for thousands of CPA candidates. Your responsibilities will encompass project development, strategic planning, and execution across UWorld Accounting's comprehensive suite of products, including the Uniform CPA Examination question bank, supplementary textbooks, and instructional videos.
Your primary focus will involve creating high-quality testing materials for our CPA question bank while actively participating in innovative product development initiatives. You'll apply your extensive knowledge to ensure all content accurately reflects the current CPA examination blueprint and adheres to standardized testing practices. This requires staying current with evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and AICPA guidelines.
Quality assurance represents another critical dimension of this role. You'll validate the accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness of content generated by the broader CPA product team, ensuring every question, explanation, and educational resource meets our exacting standards. Collaboration is essential—you'll work alongside other content experts to identify emerging topics, address knowledge gaps, and develop new products that respond to the evolving needs of CPA candidates.
Your creative input will directly influence how we present complex accounting concepts, making them understandable and retainable for diverse learning styles. You'll have the opportunity to innovate in educational methodology while maintaining the rigor and precision that accounting excellence demands.
