POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in UI/UX development to join our innovative design and development team in Bangalore. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape user experiences for critical laboratory management systems and enterprise platforms that serve Eurofins' global network of laboratories and millions of users worldwide.
As a Senior UI/UX Developer, you will be instrumental in transforming complex laboratory workflows and scientific processes into intuitive, user-friendly digital experiences. Your designs will directly impact how scientists, laboratory technicians, and business professionals interact with cutting-edge LIMS and enterprise solutions daily.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Conceptualization and Execution
Your core responsibility involves translating abstract concepts into concrete wireframes and mock-ups that lead to intuitive, efficient user experiences. You will design and deliver these wireframes and mock-ups using industry-leading tools, ensuring that every interface element serves a clear purpose and enhances user productivity.
Taking a rigorously user-centric design approach, you will rapidly test and iterate your designs based on user feedback, usability testing results, and stakeholder input. This iterative process ensures that final designs genuinely meet user needs rather than simply meeting aesthetic standards.
Strategic Design Leadership
You will make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core functionalities and new features being developed for LIMS, customer portals, and enterprise platforms. These decisions require balancing user needs, technical constraints, business objectives, and design best practices.
Your role extends beyond creating individual screens or components—you will think holistically about entire user journeys, ensuring consistency, coherence, and excellence throughout the user experience. You will adopt and adapt designs to align with larger application themes while continuously seeking opportunities to improve overall user experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaboration forms a cornerstone of this position. You will work closely with product managers, software engineers, business analysts, quality assurance teams, and various stakeholders across different geographies. This collaboration ensures designs are feasible to implement, meet business requirements, and deliver genuine value to end users.
You will need to effectively communicate design rationale, present multiple design options, incorporate feedback gracefully, and advocate for user needs throughout the development process. Your ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders will be crucial to project success.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
UX Design Expertise
A solid grasp of user-centered design principles and testing methodologies is essential. You must understand subsystems, usability principles, and accessibility concerns (WCAG compliance) to create inclusive designs that serve diverse user populations.
You should possess the ability to work with business stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and translate them into complete user experiences that meet product needs and align with product vision. This requires active listening, thoughtful questioning, and creative problem-solving.
Extensive experience using UX design best practices to design solutions is mandatory, along with deep understanding of responsive design principles ensuring interfaces work seamlessly across devices—from desktop workstations to tablets and smartphones.
Communication and Documentation
The ability to clearly and effectively communicate and document design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams is critical. You will create design specifications, user flow diagrams, interaction patterns, and style guides that enable developers to implement your designs accurately.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent field.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 4-6 years of professional UX design experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing complex solutions and sophisticated interfaces
- Proven track record of delivering successful user experiences for enterprise or B2B platforms
- Experience working in agile development environments
TECHNICAL STACK AND TOOLS
Required Expertise:
Design Tools: Demonstrated expertise in industry-standard UX software including:
- Adobe XD for prototyping and design systems

Frontend Technologies:

Shift options include:
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST (Day shift)
- 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM IST (Afternoon/Evening shift to collaborate with European teams)
