About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Principal Engineer to join our IO Design team in Bangalore. This is a pivotal technical leadership position for a self-motivated professional who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments. As the technical lead for our application-specific I/O interface solutions, you will drive innovation in semiconductor design while working with cutting-edge technologies that power the future of green energy, clean mobility, and secure IoT solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Architecture
- Own the complete design and development lifecycle of IO library designs, encompassing both front-end (FE) and back-end (BE) implementations from concept to silicon
- Define and architect the overall IO strategy, including sub-block conceptualization in alignment with product requirements and technological roadmaps
- Act as the subject matter expert for IO selection, implementation, integration, and qualification at the sub-system level, providing expert advisory support to product teams
- Drive IO integration into sub-systems, proactively identifying and resolving technical challenges to ensure seamless implementation
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and technically drive cross-functional teams comprising circuit designers, layout engineers, behavioral modeling specialists, and characterization engineers
- Interface directly with system architects in product development to define, refine, and finalize IO specifications and requirements
- Guide team members on effective IO implementation strategies, conducting thorough design reviews and continuously pushing for improvements in turnaround time, design robustness, optimization, area efficiency, and power consumption
- Provide hands-on support for FE/BE development as project demands require, maintaining technical credibility through active involvement
Quality & Process Excellence
- Own IO quality sign-offs and maintain comprehensive checklists at critical project milestones to guarantee quality deliverables to System-on-Chip (SOC) teams
- Ensure compliance with all Infineon Quality and Process practices throughout the library development lifecycle
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design and verification methodologies to enhance both quality outcomes and operational efficiency
- Champion disciplined process management with meticulous attention to quality, detail, and adherence to industry best practices
Technical Expertise Application
- Leverage extensive knowledge of interface standards, including LVTTL, LVCMOS, DDR, SPI, xSPI, Oscillator, LVDS, over-voltage/under-voltage tolerant circuits, and Fail-Safe IO circuits
- Apply deep understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and Latch-Up (LU) concepts to ensure robust, reliable designs
- Utilize expertise in characterization methodologies specific to IO library development
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 12+ years of relevant work experience in semiconductor design and IO development
- 5+ years in a Technical Lead capacity, demonstrating progressive responsibility and impact
Technical Skills
- Proven track record of successful project delivery from specification through silicon with comprehensive knowledge of all associated deliverables
- Solid, hands-on experience in IO design, particularly for industry-standard interfaces
- Strong understanding of ESD protection and Latch-Up prevention concepts
- Deep knowledge of IO library characterization methodologies
